Not at all brooksey, I'm sure that you're more than capable, I'm just suggesting that if you want to build a really professional looking bike, (whether it's a chop or a cafe bike) you've gotta start with the right parts, because when you're building mechanical art, compromise sucks.
I'm kicking myself as I think back to 1981 when I had my first K1, I was GIVEN an Amen Savior frame, chrome springer front end and a set of "Sidewinder" pipes, custom fuel and oil tanks etc, and I gave them to another guy because I was just a digger in the army, had no garage to secure them, and wasn't allowed to keep them in my barracks room.
It wasn't for a few more years before I had my own workshop and tools, nowadays I could get the thing together (properly) in a matter of weeks! You enjoy building that bike mate, and I'm sure you'll do a great job! Cheers, Terry.
