$850.00 and its yours. but mostly your paying for the container.

maybe the reason that ePay tank is so expensive is it comes with 3 gallons of gas in it?

It was 202 or thereabouts 13 hours before it closed.  There's another one just listed that's almost as clean inside.  Wonder what it'll bring.  There's also a yellow 75 or 76 POS at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970S-HONDA-CB750F-GAS-TANK_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35586QQihZ017QQitemZ270232245057QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW that no one will bid on at 9.99.

I saw two different auctions for NOS 350 f tanks the last few months go over $1000 plus. One needed badges and I think neither had the decals...the NOS side covers for the green was 460?...Oh  i have some side covers for a 350 f.  If anyone needs them Id like to trade them.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

I've had my hands on 4 supersport bikes using that tank. 3 of the 4 tanks were virtually unusable. They are almost always rusted out on the bottom and riddled with pinholes. I' ve tried to use several of them. The interesting thing is... You can have solid, but weathered paint on one of those tanks and when you sand it. You will find the rusting under the original paint. I think Honda had a special formula to make those rust prone.

Those can be hard to get in good condition, unlike the earlier tanks which are a dime a dozen.

some bidders tend to get carried away on e-bay. I havent the faintest clue why they dont shop around. Desperation and the need to win is my only guess.

So true. I don't know if they used thinner metal in order to stamp out the shape or what but these supersport tanks are getting hard to find in usable shape. The one in the auction appears to be a hard to find item, an F2 tank with original paint/stripes that does not have peeling clearcoat and no visible rust inside. Unfortunately with ebay a piece of #$%*e can still take a good picture and I've seen some real losers go for high$$ while scouting a tank for my project.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

You Ebay messaged me earlier about a set of pipes I have on Ebay right now. Did you know I also have a tank?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270234669535&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=017

It's for a K and has the petcock on the right, early style. I put a 76 tank on my K4 that this tank came off of. Just needed to run the fuel line over to the left side and put a "T" in the line. Early petcocks a 2 outputs, later only 1. It all works fine though.

Anyway, if you're looking for a K tank and you end up picking up the pipes too, could save yourself A LOT of shipping.

thx.
