Everything came out great from sandblasting, had some pitting on the swingarm where a bunch of leaves and dirt had sat, but still really solid. No holes or cracks or rot on the frame or anything else.
Took everything over to my bosses garage, he has every tool imaginable including a blasting booth for the small parts. Did the battery box, tool tray, engine mounts, kick stand, rod for rear brake, the flat about a foot long part that goes from the swingarm to the rear brake thing lol not sure what it's called, key-switch holder...and some other misc. parts.
Already primed and has one coat of black enamel on everything. Will post pictures as soon as I can get over there with my camera...keep forgetting to bring it. I'll try to have some posted late tomorrow or early Saturday...starting to get excited about being able to put some parts back on the bike. We're going to have at the motor with some degreaser over the weekend and start polishing things up, put a few more coats of paint on everything next tues/wed/thurs, and start putting everything back on it the week after. Should start looking like a bike again in a few weeks. Hopefully road worthy in a month if money allows...
Needs a new front sprocket, chain, front brake rebuilt, new tires, bidding on some rebuilt forks right now, the steering stem bearings looked great to my amazement, all chrome should polish up okay, (not going for a show bike, just a daily rider...), need to fix the starter button, replace a few wires, clean the oil pump, replace the oil filter, have the carbs synchronized, get the motor timed just right, get the tank kreemed, paint the tank and side covers, replace the seat foam, adjust my valve clearance, adjust cam chain, new exhaust...the list goes on...
