New New Hampshire guy. that's me!
« on: May 08, 2008, 08:02:04 PM »
Hey guys, I've been on here for about a week so far, figured I'd introduce myself. my name's joe, i'm from salem nh and ride a 78 cb750f super sport. i had some problems with the bike at first, but got them all figured out (thanks to this forum) and now it runs great. the bike was stock when i got it, and had a vetter fairing and bags. all i really have to say is that the FAQ's here are the balls! some of the most informative threads i have ever read in my life. i also drive a supercharged saturn (in the last pic). well onto the pics!

Welcome from NY. I will be in the Boston area next week. I will also 'wander" in Salem as I always do to visit your State Store for the discount and TAX FREE spirits.

That's crazy that your bike ended up on CL!

What did you paint your wheels with?

Cheers & Welcome from a fellow 78 750 F woner

i used krylon paint i bought at lowes. i did 1 coat of primer, 4 coats of red, then 4 of black, then about 6-7 coats of clear. hopefully it stays!

^^the bike had a vetter fairing and saddle bags and a highway bar, so itook all those off and sold them on ebay. i rebuilt the carbs and put all new gaskets in them, and bench sync'ed them. all the usual stuff; fuel filter, air filter, oil and filter etc. then i was having problems with my points so ordered a dyna s ignition and put that in. i did the rear shocks, new tires, make headlight ears, 6000k HID kit and took off my center stand. i'm now working on an exhaust and trying to get my horn to work (as wierd as that is). but the bike runs great now and it's my dd on nice days.

actually it's quite comfy. but i hate it, it's an eye-soar to me. i've looked for new seats, but they're a pretty penny. i don't want to cheap out on a seat, so i'm waiting till i start working full time during the summer to buy a nice one, or have mine shaved down and recovered, or trade someone.
