Anyone going to the Antique Motorcycle Club swap meet in PA?
« on: April 20, 2017, 07:29:42 PM »
Hey guys,

Fairly new to the forum and recently came across the Antique Motorcycle Club of America after meeting some vintage Harley guys. They complimented me on the CB and we got to talking and they mentioned a really big show/swap meet coming up in Oley, PA and they said there's a huge turn out and lots of guys with parts. They mentioned that in recent years the Jap and British bikes were starting to make a good showing and I was wondering if any fellow Honda guys are possibly going or have gone in the past?

I'm in Ocean City, MD and it looks like a 3 hour drive for me so not to bad and was hoping to see/meet other CB guys. Let me know and maybe we can hook up. Haven't decided if I'll trailer the bike up as I might find something interesting there to bring back but I heard there are some great rides and rallys throughout the event so I'll probably end up taking her... hope to here from anyone in the area!

Joe

Mods, not sure if this post qualifies for this section of the forum so I apologize in advance.

Hm it's not too far away from me, but Rhinebeck is much closer. When is that one? How do these things work? Do you have to bring parts to swap or can you buy parts? I'm looking for a set of '78 550 pipes

There are parts vendors with inside and outside spaces. If you join AMCA you can show your bike if you want.

The amca has their show and swap campout in my down every august.  Not much love for the jap crap round here.  But I learned a lot about really old harleys and indians.  A sachs motor bike won a trophy last summer.

The AMCA meet where bomber lives is fun, itsalso vintage bicycles.. I went a few times..
The Oley one is a big one, been around a long time.
Generally they are more American Iron, but still fun to go to.
Not sure if I would want to vend Jap stuff, and table prices tend to be high.

I'd be happy to split a table with ya.  I could do well to try and clear some of my surplus 550 stuff and could probably get some guzzi stuff to move out too.
And, Ms Annie has gotten Olympia on the list for DGR 2017 cities.  Still waiting to hear more from the Aussies before planning gets kicked into gear.
