I have one of each and am trying to decide which one to use on a cafe racer. I will make a seat to match one of the tanks.

chrome gas cap tank is stock for that year? yes? I would go with that one, although I like the later year tanks better

The longer tank is stock....but the shorter cb550k tank will fit with no mods.

My 78 cb550 gas tank is toast will a 78 cb750 tank fit?

I went with the earlier style tank with the chrome cap on my 77. I think it looks a lot better. The seat and grab bar is from a early model too.
