pics of 4-into-1 headers - no MAC's please
« on: May 10, 2008, 11:15:33 AM »
Hi all. I am basically just looking for pictures of the headers for aftermarket 4 into 1 exhaust systems. I didn't ask for MAC's as they can easily bee seen in just about any picture of a bike with a MAC system on it (even from the wrong side...).

I have been thinking some about fabbing up my own exhaust system for my bike and was just wondering what other manufacturers had done. My bike is a 750 but the pictures don't have to be limited to that CC.

Thanks!!

Well sorry Bob I'm breaking the rules right off, because this was a Mac header, that is a GSXR muffler and the rest is part of my old stainless swimming pool ladder in between.

If that is a Jardine on Big Jims yellow bike, then they make at least 1 more style & the collector is under the clutch cover.

I think the OP needs front shots or ones that show collector locations as they are thinking of making some pipes.

Check the thread, 750,s from the Past.. by 1080, lots of header pics on there..

Yep, thats what I'm thinking of. I found a pipe bender in www.northerntool.com for $99.99 and thought that when all was said and done I could probably build a good header cheaper than what I can buy one for. I was just wondering how the different companies collected all the pipes into one.

I really love the exhaust set up on This Bike, but I have no idea how to "Make" a muffler. I can buy a slip on for a 4 into 1 just about anywhere that will work and look fairly good, though.

Well sorry Bob I'm breaking the rules right off, because this was a Mac header, that is a GSXR muffler and the rest is part of my old stainless swimming pool ladder in between.

Are you sure that's a MAC? It looks like it collects awfully far forward for a MAC.

And don't worry, a bike that looks nice should never have to apologize for it's appearance.   ;D ;)

This is a Tri-Mil. They're now known for their VW Baja exhausts, but once upon a time they produced a limited number of these systems.  RR

Here's a pic of some NOS pipes I bought at a swap meet last year, they're an unknown brand made in Japan. They work well with the 836 engine, not too loud, but definitely angry............  ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

When I first got my bike it had this rusty Kerker 4-1 from the 70's installed...

... which has long since been called home by the Gods of Rust.

i have that same bender and it's damned near impossible to get a bend without crimping the pipe.

754, you mean the one I posted?  You may be entirely correct but I thought I remembered the faded remnants of a Kerker sticker on there somewhere.  That's not necessarily definitive though, anyone can slap on a sticker I guess.
