I have an opportunity to buy a cb400a. Are automatics any good? Looking for a project bike, but the cheap 750s keep getting snapped up.

Not sure whether 'good' or 'bad' are descriptives that can be applied to these bikes. From a curiosity/rarity value I would say that it would be an interesting project. Given that there is bound to be a resurgence of interest in automatic transmission bikes (look at the growing popularity of the big touring scooters) I think It would a nice to own the grand daddy......

Definitely a fine addition to any stable.
