Thought I would Throw Y'all a Few Bones
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:01:27 PM »
Well, I really wanted to show y'all where I am at.  Finally got enough of the front end together for the photo shoot and enough for me to get started on the back end and git her another inch down.  She is 3 1/8 inches down in the front, 2 in the rear.

I still need to order shorter cables and hoses for the front.  I did buy another stock seat to mod, still waiting on it.  I hope y'all do not mind.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Very Nice, I really dig the stock gray and polished motor with the flat black header as that's the look I'm going with.  Did you paint or polish the cam cover, I can't tell.  Also many of us have considered that fairing at one time or another, how much does it get you out of the wind with those bars?  Are they "superbike bars"?  I'll be running "daytona bars" which are at most a couple inches higher.

Polished the cam cover, what I could get to when I was doing that parts months ago.  I just cleaned the motor as much as I could.  One day it will come out to get detailed.

That fairing has not seen any wind yet.  I have read that you won't get much if any wind off of you unless you stick your head in the fairing, lol.  So, it is purely for looks.

Those are superbike bars.  Thought I was ordering the other ones that were a little higher but not crying, I actually like it.  Sitting on the bike with hands on the bars, they feel good.  Nice angle on the wrists.

The drop in height in bars (from the stock ape hangers) and that little viper fairing helps be feel better on the bike.  When it is off, it feels like a bicycle with a massive engine under it.  Kinda don't like that feeling, 'specially since my other ride has a big frame mounted fairing on it.

I had do go with bar end mirrors as the PO broke the mount on the clutch side.  I removed what was left and tried to make it look like it was normal from the manufacturer.  I like the bar end mirror look as well on it.

Thanks for the compliment Alan!

I have a couple of sidecover/tanks to paint and I like your color pick.

What kind of pipe is that?  It seems so well tucked underneath which was probably nice if you're lowering your bike.

Nice bike... and what it that I see in the background?? ;)

Yea, that is kinda kewl.  It was there when I picked it up.  It is cheap MAC.  I do like how it tucks under.

That is my XVZ12DN that you see in the back, if you are speaking about the motorcycle.  Here it is in the light.

Oh, momma came home and liked what she saw.  She decided to pose for the picture.

I just used the 11" shorty shocks for the rear.  Hoping to squeeze the last inch with 16" rim to make it about 3" down.

It is a stock seat that I will work the foam kinda cafe-ish and lower than the seat that is already on it.  I am going to try and mimic some of ekim78's seat.

Thanks for the compliment.
