another Pennsylvanian!
« on: May 12, 2008, 06:51:27 PM »
Hi, everyone,

Greetings from Grove City, PA--north of Pitt, halfway to Erie. Judging from what I've seen on the introductions board, we could have a rally somewhere near me!

The board looks GREAT. I used it during a CL350 rebuild and it was so incredibly, incredibly helpful. I'm glad to be an official member this time around.

The new bike as a 1970 CB175. (A twin, I know!) I bought it as a commuter, and plan to spruce it up a bit. It's had a hard life.

I'm also restoring--heavily--a 1963 CB77. The CB175 is easy by comparison. Or so I thought...

I have a voltage regulator issue I've not experienced, and have not seen yet addressed on the board. (Apologies if it has.) I think it's the voltage regulator. I've seen it called a CDI box, and merely a relay also. It may be known by all of those names, but it's new territory for me. I'm interested to learn, but admit this is a new facet for me. My Honda manual does not picture it. I'll be posting a pic with my post. Help appreciated!

In reading through some of the posts before posting my question (mentioned above) I saw a link to the hondatwins.com forum. I thought that maybe with my 175 being a twin, that I should go there instead of a sohc4 group. (nothing personal;))

The link took me to a page that said the forum is being assembled at present and to be patient. However I also found this: http://www.cmsnl.com/classic-honda-forum/350twinnew_f20.html

Is this it?

Advice appreciated.

Welcom Wez. There's some experienced knowledge here that could probably sort your problem, but wouldn't keep you from checking in over at the hondatwins.com though. We've been getting revamped you might say, Mark (mlinder) and Mike (mikedialect) are the main ones responsible for the Twins even being around and they're just trying to get it to where we don't have as much trouble from Spammers and such. Check us out, nothing says you can't belong to both places, a number of us do.

Welcome to the site!  I am just outside of Erie.  My dad lives in Stoneboro, real close to Grove City.  I'll probably be down in that area over the summer.
