oil leak from cylinder head side covers

today i was riding my 78 550k and i there was a massive oil leak coming from both sides of the of the head where the shafts that hold the rocker arms in place. i went to the honda dealer and ordered new O rings for the side covers. Anything else i should do or know ?

Should be a soft alloy washer between the steel bracket the end cap fastens to and the valve cover and a steel washer above, if that bolt is slightly loose oil will leak
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

didn't see a washer it does screw in with a tapered screw. it is tight.

came home from work checked for the washer. had it on the wrong side. Thank You bryanj
