Terry got busted.
« on: May 13, 2008, 07:28:11 PM »
DARWIN, Australia - An Australian man has been fined after buckling in a case of beer with a seat belt but leaving a 5-year-old child to sit on the car's floor, police said Tuesday.

Constable Wayne Burnett said he was "shocked and appalled" when he pulled over the unregistered car Friday in the central Australian town of Alice Springs.

The 30-can beer case was strapped in between two adults sitting in the back seat of the car. The child was also in back, but on the car's floor.

"The child was sitting in the lump in the center, unrestrained," Burnett told reporters Tuesday.

"I haven't ever seen something like this before," he said. "This is the first time that the beer has taken priority over a child."

The driver was fined 750 Australian dollars — about $710 — for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and for failing to ensure a child was wearing a safety belt. :P

"This is the first time that the beer has taken priority over a child."

That he knows of...  I personally have seen at least a dozen times that's happened, just not so outwardly.  Who's dad hasn't said, "wait a minute son, I'm getting a beer."  or "You're just not worth as much as a good Milwaukee's Best."  It's just the way things are, right?   Right?  I'm not a worthless person!  Stop laughing at me!!!

as long as it is conducted on ebay and with paypal so everyone is safe, oh yeah, shipping insurance.

Probably need at least one roll of duct tape to stop the youngster from wriggling.

Back to the topic. If that bike comes into the US the $64,000 question is whether it will be brought into Canada.

Man, I just read this, and all your witty posts, and I gotta say, you guys are so lame..............  :P
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

30 can cases are pretty common here John, I'm guessing (but I don't know for sure) that the people in question were Aboriginals, this stuff is quite common in the Northern Territory, I've seen rusted out old pickup trucks with up to 30 "Abo's" in them, driving between Katherine and Darwin, all as drunk as skunks, but because it's not "politically correct" to prosecute them, the cops turn a blind eye to their activities, and just pick up the bodies later. Cheers, Terry. ;D

The biggest thing to change in the legal system over here in the last 30 years has been an import from america, Political Correctness.
As soon as anything happens to an abo (can you tell i`m NOT politically correct) scream RACIAL DISCRIMINATION. The cops are as scared as hell of being labelled rascist. A white guy needs to keep his car roadworthy in the northern territory, a blackfella doesnt because the cops arent game to take them off the road and the lawyers hired by  the aboriginal council are bloody good

Well none of them have a job, so the sad thing is that we dumb white guys with jobs are financing their "reverse-racism"...........  :P
