Would This Get Your Interest?
« on: May 14, 2008, 06:43:24 PM »

Came across a new (to me) source of photos. Would This one get your motor started? ???

     Or this one?

    How about this one?

Love that first one.

I'm really digging red frames.  I'm thinking of going red for the frame on my upcoming 78 750F Rickman faired cafe project.

Ahhhhh inspiration.

Enough Bill, you pick and I'll take it. Not a bad choice to be had. But you do make it hard choose.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

From top to bottom:

I'll take the 4th (BSA Gold Star) over the other 3.
If I could not have the 4th, I'd take the 2nd over the other remaining 2.
If I could not have the 4th or the 2nd, I would take the 3rd.
I would leave the 1st where it sits.

Now, I'll sit back and have some popcorn.  I expect a discussion.

The last three (?) has much better cool factor, but if I were to have one and only one, it would be the first one just for sheer reliability.
I'm tired of wrenching; I need to ride! ;D

I hear ya. ;) While I like the look of the 1st one (SR500 Yamaha), that Matchless (the 2nd one) looks pretty tough too. Then there's the older BSA (the 3rd one and I' don't remember what model it is, maybe a 350 or 500cc) that looks pretty cool and I've always had a liking for the 50's BSA Gold Star too! Thankfully, I won't have to make a choice like that cause I don't think I could do it very easily. ::) Back in the early 60's we had a friend who race a Gold Star (like that #4 bike, only stripped down, some engine mods, with number plates & megaphone and the front brake removed of course!) on the Flat Track in Louisiana (I believe) and that bike was quite a runner and also sounded beautiful with a short reverse cone megaphone on it. 8) ;)  Somewhere, I've got a program with a picture (hope I can find it) and I'll post it if I can find it.

I'd have the Matchbox first, the B33 (B31?) second, the DB34 and the Yam last.  ;D
