$4.39
« on: May 16, 2008, 09:18:07 AM »
Well, the fuel for my bike just went up 20 cents today.... Sunoco Ultra 94.  My Shell station no longer sells the 98 V-Power, which would have cost $4.97.

I just agreed to buy a Nighthawk 250 - 70MPG

I went to bed and it was $3.85 (for 87). I got up and it was $3.99. Is it weird that I drive a Ford Focus and still think I need a smaller car? HA!. Just that many more miles the bike will see I guess. Like I need an excuse to ride a motorcycle.

Yeah, our gas subsidies enabled us to cripple ourselves that much more when the price got that high.  I feel for all the people with huge pickups, SUVs and Hummers.  :/  ...but not that much.  ;) :D

We went metric along time ago and have been paying high prices for fuel ever since, the litre price looks good until you fill the tank in US/UK gallons. It won’t be long untill you fellas go metric with your fuel…. Our armies/war against terror has to be paid for some how, so we live with the high prices and not for long I hope!

I do not feel at all for those in SUVs. Most are soccer moms anyways who think they need a big truck to be safe.

I have a question. What is petrol????   OH WAIT. Do you mean GAS?  ;D

I will say that I have started to see a lot more bikes on the road and smaller cars. It is a good change.

Blimey, It's  called  petrol in the UK usually and you blokes always call it gas! Its a liquid when you buy it, its better know around my bike friends as juice. Same language different worlds I suppose.  ;)  ;D

I've seen SO many little trail70's and scooters coming into the shop... barn fresh motorcycles brought from retirement for Dad's commute...
All very good changes.  Bicycles, too.  Very positive changes, all in all.

I wonder if small-town stores will see more business when it gets too expensive to go 30mi to the nearest walmart?

Now THAT is an interesting question - all the malls, all the big-box stores are usually way out of town.  Mom & Pop right closer in.  That WILL be an interesting phenomenon to watch happen...
