Hey SOHCheads!
« on: April 21, 2008, 04:01:21 PM »
Hey guys...new member here from northern NJ.  My name is Ted and I recently found a 76 F with only 2500 miles on the clock.  This thing is a real time capsule!  I rebuilt one of these about 5 years ago and have been on the lookout since for another one in stock condition.  I plan on a few tasteful mods (straight bars, bar end mirrors), but plan to keep her mostly stock.

A bit about me: I have owned 5 bikes in the past - 82 Kaw KZ650, 82 Honda CB900F, 96 Kaw ZX9R, 97 Kaw ZX9R and a 76 Honda CB750F.  I own and track a vintage 88 Porsche 911, which is fully race prepped.  I look forward to sharing knowledge with you all and hope to see you out on the road!

Check out my new peach in the gallery: TedR

Welcome.....

Refreshing not to have a new member either trolling for prices because he's gonna dump a bike or Parting one out.

Sounds like you love machinery.

Ted, you can point to externally hosted pics from here (see the FAQs). The Gallery counts as external!

You don't see many F1s in that condition.

I was stunned when I saw the listing for the bike.  It still has the original tires, the original Honda dealer key fob and the owner's manual looks like it came off the press yesterday.  Can't wait to take delivery on it next Tuesday.  I'll post a few more photos.

A few weeks have passed and the bike has had some nice upgrades.  New tires, new CB400F handlebars, new grips, an oil change and complete lube of all pivot points and cables.  She runs fairly well, but I think a bit rich (hesitation on quick throttle application and dark plugs).  I'll spend a few hours today on the carbs and see what I can do to tease out the slight hesitation.  A few photos in the meantime.
