Happy 'birthday' to you, 'happy birthday' to you....
« on: May 18, 2008, 07:25:23 AM »
.....just realised that it was two years (on the 13th) since Sophie came into my life. And what a happy and memorable two years they have been. Nearly 20,000km under the wheels and apart from routine maintenance she's been stone-axe reliable. Having said that, yesterday I committed the cardinal sin of doing a tune up when she didn't really need it and now she's sulking and refusing to purr like a kitten. That, of course, is my problem not hers!! When will I ever learn.

And, by extension, it's nearly two years since I fell into the delights of communicating with all you fine chaps and chap-esses.

Congrats Nick!

My second anniversary is upon me too.  I found Lucky the Superpickle two years ago last week, and two years ago from next week is when i got the money together and picked her up.  A week from then is when I got her to run (thanks to this forum.)  since then she has been nothing but reliable and forgiving of my learning curve.  In those two years Lucky has more than lived up to her name and replaced my car as primary mode of transport.

I suggest the gift of a Hondaman electronic ignition thingy.  the gift that gives back with every twist of the grip.

heres to many more happy anniversaries

That's very cool, Nick. What's the protocol for the second anniversary? Paper? Silver? Bearings? Motor Oil? And what kind of oil does Sophie get on your anniversary?

Are you thinking that I intended a double entendre? I have problems with single entendres. It was more a reference to the motor oil debate. Oh well, I'll go back to standing in the corner.

Now that I think about it, it's pretty easy to remember my K1's anniversary.  It was four years ago on March 18th, which is my Wife's birthday.  That's right!  I was out of town on her birthday, buying a project motorcycle with money that I should have spent on bills, and she still married me!! ;D

She knew I was a lost cause when it came to old motorcycles long before then, anyway.
