I'm finally owner of a SOHC in USA.
Picked up 350 this afternoon (thanks to APHhawkes)
 Police from Britain have been in touch about my stolen CJ250, its going to cost more than its worth to recover it.
For them to pick it up and impound it is $220.00 plus $25.00 a day 'storage, transport costs back to South Wales from Devon??? probably $3~400.00 and, I only get the rolling chassis as the engine has been changed so doesn't match the stolen numbers. Its probably worth 200 at most as I don't know bike values in Britain ( but I know they are much higher than US prices)
Anyway, back to the CB350 Four
Haven't had a good look at it yet to see exactly what is going to need but it was free (except for the $90.00+ in gas to get it) so still a good deal in  my opinion. Glad I have a 'mini' truck that does about 27mpg   
 gas is real expensive in South Miami though compared to Orlando ( but they get the 'good stuff' not 'cut'  with ethanol, I could notice the difference 
Everything is still sitting in truck at present, did almost 600 miles today, going to 'unpack' it and get some pics to post in the AM.
 Are there any 350 four 'experts' here? how much different is it to the 400F? ( except for obvious, clutch cover and smaller engine)

Hi and congratulations, and no I am not an expert, just an owner of 3 CB350F bikes. The 400F has a 6 speed gearbox and the 350F a 5 speed, but I do have an 350F engine that has had a 400F 6 speed gearbox fitted into it by a previous owner that was building it up as a Cafe. Many parts are interchangeable. Most workshop manuals cover both models and they often list the differences of the 400F in the rear of the manual. The 400F 4 into 1 exhaust system will fit a 350F, as one of my bikes does have a set fitted to it. Cheers ... Phil in NZ

Hi Phil thanks for reply. I thought 400 exhaust may fit, it opens up some possibilities for Yosh or similar. Didnt know about transmission, assumed 350 was 6 speed.

Not an "expert", but I've read extensively on them.

Differences include:

Smaller engine (different head and bottom end is the biggie)
5-speed box and smaller/different clutch (the 400F clutch is VERY Overbuilt)
rear shocks and springs (softer)
front fork softer and underdampened
seat
tank (though the seat and tank are interchangeable)

Same:

Frame (except for exhaust mounting points)
wheels
brakes
carbs
cam
crank
rods
wiring
fenders
Damn near everything else

The 400F was basically a re-styled and slightly hot-rodded 350F, so a LOT of the core parts are the same.

Just wheeling it around after pumping up the tyres I noticed is really soft springs.
 I guess I should look for a 400f tranny with clutch as I have some plans for this thing.
 Picked up a RF900 cylinder head to see if valves may fit?
 It came with a dead motor, threw #3 rod through case.

You'll have to change the case too.  The whole bottom end is different, IIRC.  At that point, may as well get an entire 400F engine and have the extra 59ccs and better head.

Bugger. Guess the complete 400f is going to be easier.
 wonder if a CB360 6 speed tranny will fit?
guess I'll find out when I strip the dead engine.
 It may end up with modified stock motor
