upside down fork seals

if they are installed wrong, will they still work just as well as installed those right side up?  anyone done that?

ratski.....I thought so.  I guess there is no way to remove them and reuse without tearing them all to hell.  After 33 years the old ones were grown into the forks, it took a looong time to get them out.    :(

boil some water with some wd40 and dip the fork seal end in it, leave for about 5 minutes and that seal eill just about fall out

Get a Cclamp and a piece of wood.  Put the wood inbetween the c clamp and the seal with the c-clamp touching both the wood and the back of the seal.  Now turn the thing and it'll pop right out.
