Hello from New Jersey
« on: May 31, 2008, 01:55:10 PM »
Hey everyone, glad I found this sight !!! I'm turning 40 next month and decided after 20 years of wanting to get a bike, it was time. I always liked the old cb's and was lucky enough to get one from a guy at work who wanted to get it out of his garage to make room for his new cruiser. Glad I was able to help him out. He put a bunch of time & money into it, it was his first bike. He let me have it for $700, it's a 72 cb750, pretty clean & seems to run good. I'm married with 2 boys, 6 and 12. I'm into drag racing, mostly nostalgia stuff, working on a 39 Studebaker gasser for the track someday. And I got a jr dragster for my 12 year old this year, should be fun. I have always liked the older stuff, Dad raised me right I guess, we always had hot rods & choppers around. I like the 70's style choppers & bobbers and would like to get into nostalgia drag bikes. Can't wait to talk with you guys & gals.  John

Welcome from NY John. Nice looking bike!

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Here are some better pics. All I need is some silver stars on my hemet and a brown suede fringed jacket and I'm ready to ride in style.

Oh man I like that helmet! Its very Japanese - where did u get it?

Interesting bike - has a K5/K6 front end - can tell by indicator lights (rear as well), and rain guard on front brake.

cheers

Just a regular open face helmet that I painted to look like an old dragrace helmet I liked. And I had to have the bubble shield, I got 2 from ebay, this blue one and a yellow one. Gotta be all vintage man!!! Check out my thread in sohc , see if you can help me answer some questions about bike. Thanks, John
