I need some direction on my VF??
« on: May 20, 2008, 05:46:12 PM »
I've been looking for a forum for my VF500 Interceptor, cause well, I've been having some problems.

You can see this at the "other bikes" section.

Why isn't there any forums for these bikes. Production was fairly well, and the price was spot on. IMHO...

Even if someone could direct me to a member or friend of their's that has some knowledge on Interceptor carbs.

Just felt like shooting off some steam....cause there ought to be more forums for everything.

And lets just say that a certain VFR site is crummy. They've never responded to any of my questions.

Thank you 8)

It's only been 14 minutes since your post on the "Other Bikes" forum.  Give it some time, someone will stop in.

I feel for you, though.  I really get spoiled by this sohc4 community and start expecting to get the same kind of support and assistance for just about everything that I have.

No, no no no...I'm not complaining about the response time for my other post, it's mainly the other forums out there that don't really support this bike.

I've been posting and posting at different sites, but no real luck.

I'm looking for a site that will always be there for my Interceptor, just like the guys and gals here at SOHC4 are for the CB's.

I'm going to try and post my problem at that other site one last time....stay tuned...

And thanks for replying  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This website is sort of like our bikes.  If everything out there were as cool as it is, then it wouldn't be anything special.

I'm guessing you are looking here:

http://vfrworld.com/forums/first-second-generation-1983-1989/

It is the best site I have found for the VF500, but I haven't found anything for any of my bikes that comes close to being as good as sohc4.net.

Since this is 'other bikes' what problem are you having?  Maybe I can help.

Very good point Gordon!!! Spoken by a man with wisdom.....

I actually forgot my username and password for the VFR site, so at this moment I'm signing in as a new member.

I'd like to hear from some other members of forums that they wished were out there.

I have a post in the "other bikes" section of our site. There is where you'll find my problem with pics.

My friend dropped off his '84 Magna 500 to see if I could get it running for him. He brought along a Honda Service Manual but it's for the 84-86 VF500. Same engine and carbs but similarities end there. I don't know whether he wants to part with the manual yet but I could at least copy and scan the carb section.

P.S.   Good thing you posted here. I woulda never seen this in "other bikes" ;)
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

I already have the clymer manual, but if the OEM manual is what you have, any insight on this piece is appreciated.

Clymer.....not so helpful at this time  ;D
