Maybe you can clean that area yourself and reglue them? I'm not sure if they can be used twice, though. Good luck.

We tried two different ways on my Harley. On the back, I ended up balancing it with weights like yours, on the front we tried those beads. Can't tell the difference at all between the two ways.

He would probably have better luck buying some new ones from the shop then applying the tricks i suggested. Once the glue lets go on them theres no chance in ever getting them to restick. First thing i was thinking of suggesting was simply replacing the weights lost if he knew exactly how many were there in the first place but i was guessing he didnt hence my earlier suggestions.

Dear diary: The lack of a balanced rear tire does not seem to affect the bike badly, was forced to ride her to a funeral before I had time to take the shine off the new tire but no dramas and it all seems to work well.
Battery now seems to not want to hold charge, will test this out over coming weeks while on holidays.
Bought the genuine ticketbox and mounting bracket off Trademe this week, the one I faked up looked pretty genunine but nothing like having the original article.

could you have done something in wiring your siren that produces excess drain?

He he you think I ride around pushing the siren button? ;D
But no, siren wiring is stock for the PZ.
If I charge the battery right up she is good as but leave her for a few days and she starts reluctantly then even after a good ride she gets harder to start, if left to cool (damn I'm hearing warning bells) the bike will start OK but you can tell by the cranking she aint a happy camper.

Sounds like a battery on the way out....Perhaps you should take a close look at your charging system?

Have you gone through your wiring harness and cleaned and applied di-electric grease Hush?

I was having bad issues with charging for a while, and ended up sanding ALL male and female connectors, and applying di-electric grease.
Went from having to charge every 2-3 days to not needing it.

Well that was until I put on this dyna2000 and dyna 2.2 ohm coils(that measure 2.4 ohms though)....
But this year I'm trying to keep the RPM's up to avoid HAVING to use the trickle charger.

.....1st gear will do 45+mph...... :)
The pull from 6-10k RPM is SWEET....... :)

hey Soos, if your 650 was doing 50mph, what revs would you be pulling?

Er I'm in top (that is unfortunately only 5th) 50mph and 4.5k revs, just not sure what these old girls rev out at speed wise.
If it wasn't for NZ being buffeted by a subtropical cyclone right now I'd be planning a wee ride tomorrow to do some more comparison checks. :(
It's so wet here they have cancelled the Lionell Ritchie concert, 20,000 fans hacked off and probably all up town getting mullicked. ;D

Dear diary: Bike a bit noisy on startup so adjusted the cam chain, big difference, much quieter so must have got it right.
Bought some of the often mentioned magic "dialectric grease" ($6 a teaspoon full) and am preparing to tackle cleaning all connectors in the hope that this will assist in keeping battery charge from dropping so quickly.

this is just an opinion but it sounds like youre revving way too high for the speed youre at. are stock sized sprockets on it?

Finally got some 50mph time in.

In 5th gear, I'm hovering around 4200.
But my rear tire is a 130/80-17 with 16 front sprocket, and a 39 tooth rear sprocket.
Stock gearing is 16 front 40 rear.

Hi Fuzzy and Soos, never counted the teeth on my sprockets but as the bike is stock all round I'm guessing the Ministry of Transport didn't meddle with the gearing.
I'm still a little unused to the 5th gear being top thing, keep hunting for 6th with my boot toe. :D
I will do some more checks next ride and see if I can find what revs I'm doing at 30, 40, 50, 60,70 mph.
Dang it seems soooo slow when i look at the speedo and its only in double figures, all my other bikes have been in KPH (kilometres per hour) so the mph speeds look a little tame. ;D
Rear tire ir a ME55 120/90/18 METZLER.

Dear diary: Nuts, it was a beautiful day today and I wheeled the bike out but woe and woe she's only running on 3 cylinders :'(, it better rain tomorrow so I can strip her down and find that miss!!!
Gotta take the tank off to get at some dodgy wiring so will make extracting the plugs easier, will look at cleaning the electrical connectors too.....might as well make a day of it. ;D >:( ;D >:( ;D
Still awaiting new ticket box and mounting bracket.

Dear diary: Absolutely beautiful day here in Napier, couldn't resist the call and got out for a ride, still has battery problems as had to crash start her at one point after a photo shot stop on the Bluff Hill Lookout.
Thought she was running on 3 but very hard to tell with these willing motors, still doing 4000 rpm at 50mph and other say that is normal for them so maybe something else.
Just found out my bike is nominated for Bike of the Month! :D
Wow big ego boost there just to get nominated, not sure what class it is for April but definately not ex Police Patrol bikes. ;D
Been meaning to get some more photos of bike out and about, only have my trusty cellphone camera so shots maybe a bit lacking in professionalism.

Dear diary: I officially hate Kit now, tore the headlight bucket apart, removed the ignition switch and did the clean everything and coat with dialectric grease trick.
Found the main battery terminal was badly gunked up so this may have been a big part of my charging problems so cleaned the terminals back to good metal and coated them too.
Have been thinking about the lack of acceleration/power I imagine I'm having, I pulled all the plugs and they were all black and fluffy so definately running too rich.
I believe its my airfilter that requires replacement so I'll go shopping for one of those this week, though I'm picking getting one will not be straight forward here in NZ.
Battery on charge overnight so will see if all my efforts today have been any use.

Tut tut Kit, fancy suggesting recreational drug use! ;D
I have enough difficulty at my age seeing clearly now without the foggy fuzzy giggling of wacky baccy.
Oh yeah I titled that pic while in the shed cursing myself for listening to you but now I've done it I'm really grateful for the shove to do it.
I nearly chickened out, it would have been so easy to just slap it all back together but I thought hey if Kit can do this in a freezing shed surrounded by snow, I can stand the 30 degree heat if I open all the garage doors and drink lots of beer while I do it. ;D
Oh Kit that light/white stuff you see in the background of the photo is "SUNSHINE" we get lots of it here in Napier, it's hot and wonderful stuff and most riders ride year round, it has never ever in Napiers history snowed here, but we did have a huge earthquake in 1931 that flattened the city. ;D
My main battery lead was quite horrible too so that could be part of the problem.
Did you have to disturb your screen? I was lucky and the bucket just slid out neatly so I could unbolt the ignition system, at least that is one area I can't blame anymore.
