Mate the old bike is going like a rocket, handling has improved with the new shocks, engine has more power thanks to your carb isolators and once I got over rebuilding my carbs 24 times in a row I'm feeling OK now. ;D
Damn but doesn't it affect you when your bike is playing up?
I get positively unlivable with until I sort the bike out, kinda like when you PC gets screwed. ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Hush

I came across a large speedo a while back.  I thought it would fit on my 76 SS.  I suspected that it was from a cop bike as it has fine calibration.  I will check tonite to see what the dimensions are.  Better yet, i'll take a picture!  It does look like the large speedo in the headlight bucket.  0 miles on odometer.

OK don't rub it in Mickey! ;D

Hi gregk, the one I put a picture up of will not fit my bike or I would have grabbed it, I am interested in the other Police model one though, it is not as large and sits next to the tacho on the Police bikes.
Some had the "stop" button to record a motorists speed you were following.

The speedo I have is identical to your picture.  The box indicates it is for a 750K.  The calibration certificate from the factory is still in the box.  Kind of neat but like you, I don't have a use for it either.

Gregk put it on Ebay, make sure you state that it is the fine calibration Police speedo for the CB750K and see how much you get offered.
Here in NZ I would expect to pick up $120 easy for such a find. :)

But I don't wanna go to school in the morning! Actually I'm at work right now. I have a lovely 5am to 330pm fri  thru mon shift. I can't complain though, since I chose it and it works really really well with schooling.

;D  Just did 40 miles of backroads, man I love this good riding weather, had a moment at 100k when I felt a light tapping on my left boot, I knew straight way it would be the side cover come off and just eased the bike to a stop hoping like heck it didn't fall under the back wheel.
No harm done but I better fix them like I did the Custom, small gauge drill through the top lugs and a light split pin, holds them on in any condtions. ;D
Am on 2pm till 10pm shift for a week so thought I better get a good ride in for this week.
Rear shocks feel nice, no more bottoming out and I'm actually getting her so low on corners that I'm worrying about the crash bars grounding....probably just all in my head but if that's all I have to worry about on my rides alls well in my world. :D

That's great! I envy you that ride! One question, are you riding the Police bike? If so do you have to have special plates or cover the lights?

Hell no she's all lit up  ;D well not quite, I'd get into deep dodo if I lit her up so I've run the lights and siren off to a hidden toggle switch, that way if I get pulled up by a nosey cop I can truly say nothing works. ;)
But I get through Warrants of Fitness (road tax inspections) and the guys down there just check my horn/lights/tires/brakes, the usual stuff on a bike so I'm road legal as far as I'm concerned and as I have a lot of off duty cops come around my place and they all want to see the bike, I can't see me getting pulled up locally. :)

Wow that is cool. If you have not done so you need to get some pics of it out in the wild. Perhaps with the cops admiring it! ;) Maybe a shot or two with the lights on..

Was riding around this week and heard a strange swishing sound (well sounded like that through my helmet) thought it might be front discs binding slightly but nah.
Anyhow I got home and after a coffee started her up to see if the noise was still there, there was a kinda tapping like a lose valve, just to be on the safe side I backed off the cam chain tensioner and damned if the motor didn't quieten right down!
So the cam chain was slack and I have a tapping noise, will lift the lids and check the valve gaps.
Apart from that the bike is going great and heaps of fun, handles much better now and eats corners. ;D
Just got a flier for the November 15th toy-run, last year the bike wasn't ready for this but I'm going to do it for sure this year, with any luck Jaffas bike will be ready as well. ;D

Cool!

Yeah I've noticed these motors get pretty quiet after a proper tune up.
If they have been sitting for a while when brought back to life the first 2 or 3 tuneups seem quite close to each other.
But things settle in after that and adjustments become needed more infrequently.
