Cheers Phil, found it again.
Old bike is still running tops, battery got a bit low cos with Jaffa's biek off the road I wasn't riding so much but put my trusty little trickle charger on her and today she fired right up.
Nice ride into the country then around town, gassed up ($14 worth? man it must have been low) and rode her back into the shed.
Tried to fire up my sons' CB400RR but it refused to go, dang something else to fix. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Hi Hush. Easter is getting closer. Dam, what happened to summer? I will let you know as early as possible if I am going to Havelock North for the sidecar rally. Be great to catch up with you and have a police bike escort on the rally run. I would take the CB350F over for a ride. She won the Palmerston North Best Japanese a few weeks back at their rally. Scored another bike the other day for $160NZ. A Suzuki GSXR250 4 cyc watercool machine. Been laid up for 12 months after someone trying to steal it. when they were spotted taking it, they threw it to the ground, broke the clutch lever, bent the gearshift lever, broke front indicator and some minor cracking to the left side fairings. Once I get a key or a replacement lock sorted, I can then proceed to see if there is any other problems and decide what to do with it. Not my sort of bike, and the sale of it later may go to financing some more bits for the Honda Fours. Enjoy your rides. Cheers

Tell Jaffa some motorcycles are just "lemons" that need to be cut into tiny pieces with a torch.

I'm not sure how far that will go, but if you start torch cutting, we want pictures.

Stardate 1732010: OK got my hands on a siren kitset, nearly burned all my fingers and Jaffas' table with my lousy soldering but managed to complete it without cooking all the transistors (I hate soldering transistors) and it all works!
Fitted it to "Blondie" and ran through the different tones, picked out 3 I like and set them up on the wee toggle switches.
Damn is it LOUD....wish I could record it for the forum but just setting it off makes my dodgy neighbours nervous. :D
So "Blondie" got her voice back, added a wee non stock item to the lid of the fuse box, I am sick of riding around and not knowing what the time is, too much hassle to take the glove off and roll the jackets sleeve up to see my watch so I bought a $2 digital mini clock from the ABC shop and double sided taped it on.
Looks OK too and real easy to see at a glance how late I am for dinner cos I'm out on some country road enjoying myself. ;)
I see it now costs me $321.42c to register my bike, must pay that some day. ;D

Star date 07042010: Had one of those oh oh moments this morning, as I have been having trouble engaging gears (esp neutral) lately I thought I'd do a simple adjust on the clutch.
Done the adjustment, all good, just one final check on the lever and......snap!!!!! >:(
Yup cable in two pieces!
Where the Hell do I find a new cable in NZ?
Scratch that, where do I find a new cable in NZ with out taking out a new mortgage? :(
None too happy with my front brakes either, something else to check out as the weather turns to custard.

Ohhh bummer about the clutch cable, but I guess better now than on the road. Can you find replacement inner cable? I had to do custom pull cables for my set up and ended up replacing the inner cable and brazing on the little barrel ends, the outer sheathing was in good condition.

That would have been throttle cables you fixed, they don't have as much pressure on them as the heavy duty clutch cables.
I really want a new cable as this one is probably 30 years old  ;D and Jaffa's GSX needs a clutch cable too.

Geez, we may be a savage lot be we Americans are sure lucky, shipping it quite inexpensive compared to what you poor Kiwi's pay. I was fretting over $7.95 to get my chain to me, guess I'll smile and be happy about it all. Maybe you guys should get together and order bulk supplies for making custom cables and such? Might be a business in it for you.

Yeah the stuff you guys in USA go down to the local shop for is the same stuff we have to order in, and hey it's not like we are a backward 3rd world country it's just small size of our population and demand for such things.
Population of New Zealand last census was just 4 million, about the size of a smallish Australian city. :D

Stardate 13042010: And we are playing the waiting game for our new clutch cables, unfortunately David Silver has run out of clutch cable stock.
Jaffa is mortified that I am going to get my new cable first and she will have to wait  ;D good job the weather isn't going to be good for her days off this week.
To be fair to DS, the shocks they sent me last year arrived within 4 days of me ordering them. :)

Captains log stardate 18042010: The first clutch cable arrived from D.S. and is 6 inches too short?!
Fortunately it did fit the missus GSX400 so all good there but I do fear the next one will also be short.
D.S. insist that they have supplied the correct cable so this may get interesting.

I have checked your orders and the correct cable for the CB650Z has been
supplied on both orders.
These cables have been supplied by Honda and are original part nos
They are listed to fit European and Australian models of your bike.
Please confirm your full frame no so i can re-check the model of your bike.

Kind Regards
Keith
