I was thinking something like marvel mystery oil!

The free sample was over in Sept 2007 & I don't have any laying around & I don't want to pay for any of it just to mess with this guy.

How 'bout Kroil?

Okay, my next suggestion.  Leave a note of your own, folded and jammed between the seat and tank.  Make it polite, but condescending.  Apologize for parking so close, as you know he must have paid a whole lot more for his bike than you did for yours, and he must be very protective of it.  Make some comment about the cost of upkeep, as it is obvious that he doesn't work on it himself.  Then in a separate paragraph, get mean.  Tell him in no uncertain terms, that if he EVER tapes anything to your paint again, you will rip his lips off, or staple his nuts to a fence post.  Something so outrageously funny to us here in the forum, that he may take it as funny, but will still get the point.

I now open the floor for ideas for that threat ;D

Threaten you will clamp his scrotum in a bench vise in an abandoned barn, set the barn on fire and then hand him a rusty butter knife.             (Whoa... 5 days of rain/snow is messing with my head.)

.................  For example, the security guard who works in our building jokingly put a parking ticket in the crevice between the tank and the seat..........

conspire with said guard...... have him write up a ticket for 'parking too close' or some such and tape it to the jerk's tank

Well, I just posted the Belushi quote in the neighbor's thread, so I went looking for the opening scene of Stir Crazy.  Remember the cabbie with the pliers?   :o

Couldn't find that, but maybe this substitute will calm everyone down...

2 feet isn't much room.  I'd be irritated if someone parked that close to me, but I wouldn't feel the need to leave a note unless it was every day, then I'd try moving and if whoever did it followed me and parked that close again, I'd wait and have a word with them and find out why and ask them not to.  I definitely have enough respect to not tape something to someone's paint.

So I have to ask, why did you park that close?

How 'bout just leaving a note on his bike saying

"Next time I will park my bike ON TOP of yours if you stick another piece of tape on my bike"

It was on the sidewalk....  the walk was about 8 to 10 ft wide.  I gave pedestrians enough room to walk by with our bikes parked parallel.  I thought 2 feet distance between the 2 bikes was plenty...  (2 feet between each of our handlebars.)  I've seen bikes parked closer.

I would suggest that you(Dusty) go back and read the entire thread.  You(along with others along the way) have missed the point, and had to make Hope set the thread back on track.  It has now taken a somewhat humorous track, and you are being a buzzkill.

Get everyone in your office/on your floor's scotch tape and go around his bike as many times as you can and put a little tiny note that says "I'm sorry I parked too close".

Depends on if you park to the left or the right of a bike that's already parked(both bikes pointing forward). Park to the left and when the bike next to you gets ready to leave and sits straight off the kickstand, more room is created. Park to the right and when they straighten up their bike they are banging mirrors and controls with your bike while trying to exit. You had room to come in straight up AND lean the bike so might not pay attention to what room is created or diminished when the other rider has to leave.

I hate, hate,HATE notes. Especially ones with tape. I trust that you'll handle things far better than I would have Hope :)
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame
