FYI choke knob tension is adjustable at the knob. Remove the rubber cover at the base of the knob and adjust the knurled plastic nut clockwise to increase resistance. This will keep the knob from falling down on its own. If the cable pulls out too far, it might be a poorly made aftermarket piece, or perhaps you may not have the cable properly attached / adjusted where it clamps to the carb body. There is some room for adjustment at the carb clamp. The choke linkage may have also been messed up in a carb overhaul . . .It is a typical problem to have the choke linkage hit the pod filter. Some bend their choke linkages, some carve away some rubber from the filter and some extend back the inner two filters with some short stubs of metal pipe (muffler pipe) and radiator hose / hose clamps. Look at the problem yourself and decide what you want to do about it . . .
