Anything I need to know b4 installing wire harness??
« on: April 03, 2008, 12:03:57 PM »
Hi I got a 1973 cb 750 honda. I just got in the PartsNmore wire harness for it. I was just wondering what I need to know, like any percautions before tear down and replace??

It said 73 to 75 something like that for the harness. Is this direct replacement harness? Thanks

Take your time, be methodical and remember not all connectors have a "mate"---especially inside the headlamp shell

Finally only hit the beer to celebrate everything working!!!
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

Hey Jay, got a couple of questions.

I have a 73 cb750 and am looking to replace my wiring harness. How was the changeover?

Was there a reason for getting the harness from partsnmore as opposed to directly from honda like hondaparts-direct.com or hdlparts.com? What was your price for your harness? I see that on those websites they are like $70 for a new one.

Lastly, what was your process? Did you disconnect everything and remove the old harness or did you do it wire by wire to make sure you had the right ones connected to each other? It doesn't look to complicated and I have the honda manual wiring diagram which I hear is better than clymers which I have also.

Well thanks for any info in advance.
