Help deciding on new bike
« on: May 24, 2008, 01:23:35 PM »
Hey everyone i am getting ready to purchase eaither a 98 Kawasaki v-star custom 650 or a 94 Honda Magna 750. magna gas about 30k miles and the v-star custom has about 18k miles. I am kindof a new rider, have ridden but not that much just my 73 cb500. Any experiences with the 2 bikes and thoughts on which would be better.

Neither of them will give you the fun the CB500 can give. The V-Star (Yamaha, not Kawasaki) is very underpowered. The magna may be a better bike, being a V-4 and better off in the power department, but still I'm not much into cruiser bikes. Not even into power-cruisers, where you have the power of a sport bike and the ergonomics of a cruiser.

i drove it one time , very smooth and good power

Yes i just noticed i wrote kawasaki sorry about that haha, i will still be riding my cb500 i love it. I am just also wanting a cruiser and right now those 2 bikes are for sale locally for the same price and im planning on getting one or the other. The v star has been lowered and has tones of extras and chrome and the magna is prety much stock besides it having new pipes. Im not to worried about the power i wont be tearing arround town it it just cruising. Ive actualy thought of selling my cb but im not sure if i want to.
