easy seat mod for un-hinged seats (cb650)

Does your 650 seat bolt on like mine? do you want to be able to lift the seat without getting your tools out? Heres an elegent, easy and cheap mod, about $12.

- Go down to your local bicycle shop and purchase two seatpost quick release bolts.
- Remove your seat (last time you will need tools to do this)
- Drill the bolt holes all the way through with a 1/8 drill bit
- Place the seat back on and install a quick release bolt on each side.

Now you can tighten your seat or loosen it off without any tools. They are available in every colour. I chose black so they wouldn't stand out.

Mine hinges up anyway Canuk, must have been a police thing with those single seats, will send a piccy when I find my digital camera.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Great tip, thanks!  I'm going to recommend this to my buddy with the 81 750C.

HA!!!!!

I knew holding onto those spare bike parts was worth it.
Quite a ingenious idea, however i cringe at cutting bits on these bikes....

Any pics?
