help with carb reassembly
« on: August 22, 2005, 04:47:10 PM »
I finally figured out that what i thought was a burnt valve was actually a needle jet holder that came loose in the carb. The syptom was my '77 CB750f was running on three cylnders. I replaced the coils, plug wires, resistor caps before I realized that there was too much gas flowing into the chamber and preventing the cyl from firing. My question is, how tight is too tight. I've attached a pic showing the carb parts. The main jet screws into the needle jet holder which then screws into the carb body and holds the needle jet in place. I rebuilt the carbs over the winter and I guess I just didn't torque it down enough. Can I use some some to loctite in there?
