Converting my 78 750K to a 530 chain. Stock final sprockets are 15/41 or a ratio of 2.73 with the 630 chain. Many posts here have considered the 18/48 sprocket combination and 2.67 ratio as equivalent to stock with the 530 chain.
But a 17/46 sprocket combinations renders a 2.71 ratio much closer to the stock ratio of 2.73.
In fact with the 17 tooth front sprocket and the rear sprockets available you can raise, lower or just about match the stock ratio.
I'm still considering an even lower ratio than stock or the 18/48 and 17/46 to lower my RPM a bit like the 17/45 which gives 2.65 or 17/44 for a 2.59 ratio.
Any reason then we wouldn't want to use the 17 tooth gear on the front over the 18 tooth?
