Well shut my mouth...

I stopped at a garage sale today and there was a 78' Suzuki GS750 for sale. I was pondering it, then the owner came over and we began to talk. The bike was real rough: missing rear signals, broken taillight, cracked rear section, seat ripped....basic 30 year old bike stuff.
he said it will start (I did turn it over). I thought of making an offer then something told me to shut up.

We talked some more then I said what are you thinking price wise...he thought and then said $50 or $60...?  I played it cool then I said "thats fair". (My offer was going to be considerable more!!! :o)

Then he said he has an extra rear rim with a newer tire!

This will be my new "Cheap-sweet Rat Rod" bike.

Today was cool..

That feeling....... right when he says the price that's a quater of what you were going to offer.... is priceless.  ;D

It's like the feeling you get when the cop lets you off with a warning instead of a ticket  :D

If that is what you call real rough, you may not be suited to vintage bikes..

This isn't my first 30+year old bike. I have had a few. They all roll in (some are dragged in) and leave in clean ridable condition. I need something to while I'm drinkin' beer in the garage ;)
