Fuel Capacity question for 78 750K
« on: July 10, 2008, 05:46:55 AM »
According to the Tech Specs here on this site the 78 750 K Fuel Capacity is
5.1 US gal, 4.3 Imp.gal (19.5 liter) and the Fuel Reserve Capacity 1.1 US gal, 0.9 Imp.
(gal 4.0 liter).
For the sake of sounding stupid, even though my father told me there is no such thing as a stupid question.
Does this tank hold a total of 23.5 Liters or is the 4 L reserve included in the 19.5 Liters? ???

Cheers

No idea. I have never run out. When I hit reserve, I have used about 4 gallons. No it sure seems like I have more than 1 gallon in the tank but it is hard to say. I think the tank ends up being about 5.5 gallons or so, maybe slightly less.

It's all one tank (there's no separate reserve tank), so the 5.1 gallons is your total fuel tank capacity.

I have to check my manuals but I think the amount is actually more than what is listed here.

Well in full tune, I was able to get close to 200 miles on a tank without running out.
So that should give you some idea. If not in full tune, 150 should be possible with no trouble.

Thanks again eldar, my bike is in full tune and I usually fill her up after 285Km and I end up putting 13-14 liters in her (57-61 mpg). Not complaining about the gas mileage    just like to know how far to push it.
