How many miles are on your engines?
« on: May 16, 2007, 09:42:27 AM »
How many miles are on your engines? I ask because I put 9,000 miles on my bike in a year. With a total sum of 95,750 miles total on the same engine. I’m about to roll over the odometer back to 0 soon!

So I’m curious what kind of mileage everyone else is putting on their old SOHC?

Since I am not the origional owner, I don't really know for certain, but my odometer is at about 18,500.  I just got the bike last fall, and I have put about 600 miles on it.

68382kms (42490 miles) of which 9900+km are mine. This is the second speedo, put on by the PO, so there is no way of knowing the actual mileage under her wheels. I'm guessing less, rather than more, on the basis that the engine and running gear are in pretty good shape .

Mine just hit 14k.  My uncle had it parked from about 1984 to 2002 when I bought it from him.  I've had two other bikes since then, but now that my CB is basically becoming a commuter I think it will start racking up miles pretty quick.

I have a 1976 CB550 with 20K miles. I bought it a few weeks ago and will probably average at least 5K per season. It's why I bought the reliable Honda CB motor.

The 76 400F I just picked up has just over 12K miles on it. The 77 400F I have has something like 36,000. I'm swapping motors tonight, would love to reach 100K at some point in my life

Actual mileage (kilometrage?) unknown, since the PO changed the speedo. I've put nearly 20k kilometres on since I got her. Actual 20k birthday coming up soon.

CB750KO - from 1970 - 1990 the 2 PO's put on 17,130 miles.  Bike was the parked for 17 years when PO lost interest.  I started her up in August 2007 and put 1,000 miles on it before last fall.  Had to be sure it was worth to restore.  Fine, fine runner...

My 78K8 has just under 9 thousand on the odometer, but it hadn't been licensed since '82 (until 3 weeks ago).

CB750K2 has 51,000 miles (27,000 by me 1999 -2001, 2006-2008)

CB750K4 has 67,500 miles (41,000 miles by me; 2001 - 2008). Has had top end refreshed twice now (and top end work another couple of times due to mechanical stupidity- me/others and replacing stock studs with HD studs)

cheers

My current motor has 50g on the bottem and around 20g on the top end.

I had one motor go over 100g, and it ran and moved around but did not like it.
Yep, i have issues with this sort of stuff.
