1977 cb550 , need help
« on: May 26, 2008, 01:28:05 PM »
Cleaned the carbs on a bike that had not run in 5 or so years. started right up once reassembled. lots of backfireing and 1st and 2nd pipes are very cool compared to the 3rd and fourth pipes. Switched the plugs around to see if that was the problem but no difference. I have new plugs , and oil filter, and new air filter on the way right now. Any ideas on why the first two dont seem to be fireing?        ???

The 77-78 K model PD carbs have pressed in jets.  I use a parallel jaw pliers to pull them straight out.
