Topic: There are cats from hell and they are outside my window.

So lately I have been hearing awful nosies coming from outside my window. It sounds like something between the souls of the damned and some sort of animal dying. Needless to say it is more than annoying. I also don't feel like listening to it all night so I am trying to figure out ways to get them to stop. I also have nothing against cats and don't want to do anything "permanent". I have tried running out of the house in the middle of the night in anger and chasing them while yelling to no effect. All they do is run away and come back 15 mins later and now my neighbors don't talk to me anymore. WHY they choose to do this horrible sound making ONLY outside my window I don't know. Heres a sample of the awful noises they make for hours on end.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep them away. They are starting to get ridiculous.

I read that cats dislike citrus. So I'm gonna give that a shot first.

I will seriously be scarred if thats the sound of cats doing it.

Also I got a picture of them and it confirms that they are, in fact from hell and they were not on top of each other so my mind is saved.

Don't worry, though, it only lasts a few weeks, and then they really start getting busy!!

funny thing... our cats are doing that right now!

i locked them in the basement just like i do everything else that bothers me or i'm bored with.

 

seriously, gordon's sprinkler link is awesome... cats hate being squirted.  we have a squirt bottle and it is our best defense.

I would suggest one of these, it's a 10 pump so you can "dial" the amount of sting all the way to assassinate, or get live traps and run the fookers to the pound.  Harbor freight has them on sale for $20.00

i have 2 cats that LIKE citrus, hamish eats oranges and bucky likes grapefruit. theyre both siamese.

You can put cat nip in the cat owners front porch. Cats go crazy on that #$%*. You will have to bait them away from your house. Otherwise once they are not in heat anymore it will stop. Though if I had to listen to that all night I would set a sprinkler in my front yard, then hook it up to a motion sensor somehow. I am sure you could find an electric valve device somewhere. Or chain a dog in the front yard. Or set up a Cat - apult and fling them away.

Buy yourself a cheap fence charger, and string a wire about cat high on insulated posts around your yard.

If anything like what I experienced, you'll hear an even more awful squawl one time (per cat), possibly a dent in whatever is nearby, never have that cat in your yard again. (Cats can learn very fast when it is in their best interest.)

No, it doesn't kill them, but it does train them that elsewhere is a better place to be.

Depending on the charger, it will kill rats, though.

There are no bikes in the background of that shot. Unless you mean the random harley being unnecessarily loud in the video.  I don't feel safe with my bikes being out on the street overnight

 I don't think the citrus worked at all as they were still in my yard today so tomorrow I'm gonna go buy some catnip. I might drop it on accident a few house down on accident, accident. I also have a squirt gun on the ready.

I never thought I would be asking this but how long do cats stay in heat for?

maybe your cats from hell could chase away the d@%m chicken sounding birds that perch in the tree next to my bedroom at 4am every morning and wake me up. They fly away about 5am before the sun comes up so I cant see to shoot them.  They have been visiting me every spring for about 3 years now. I say they, but I think its 1 bird.

Tractor Supply sells live varmint traps for about 30.00. Relocate them one at a time. Drop them off at someone's house that you dis-like. Repeat process every 3 months or sooner if sightings or sounds occur. They prefer salmon dinners I think.
