Today was a holiday in the UK
« on: May 26, 2008, 05:45:32 PM »
and the weather forcast was for rain all day. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Not that it made much difference to me as I spent most of the day in bed.

Being a night worker, I stay up as late as I can on Sunday night to help me get into nocturnal mode for Monday night.

When I did rise at 2pm, my new state of the art weather station said it was raining, it showed a big black cloud with rain falling from it.

Guess what ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)  it was nice outside ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  at least it was as good as the weather forecasters :D :D :D :D :D :D

Better late than never, won't need to water the garden today, first rain we've had in all of May.

I went to Greenwich yesterday (Sunday) to visit my son Chris.  It persisted all day which was great as Greenwich is normally heaving on a Bank Holiday. Also the M25 was (miraculously) clear for the journey home.

We took the Afghan pup to a dogshow at Bath on Monday, the weather was hideous.
Trying to get a six and a half month old Afghan to strut her stuff in three inches of water when she would rather romp around and play in it wasn't easy  :D
She was a game little thing though and came away with a "Very Highly Commended" rosette.

M5 Northbound was heavily backed up in several places with holiday-makers on their way home. Thank dog we were southbound ;D

My bike can be repaired.
My insanity is a little more permanent.

In my job, I am able to watch the weather move up the country on my computer.
I'm a security guard and have cctv live cameras in the south, midlands and north.
I can usually tell when the rain will get here by timing how long it takes to get from London to Birmingham, asuming it is traveling from the south.

Bloody hell Sam. You're watching the whole country ??

Who are you looking for ??   (Osama maybe?)

Do you think that the US Government will start reading my Blog now that I've used that word on a US website?

When are you going over Dave?

Sam. ;)

I’ve managed to get a late booking on the Monday night ferry race week so I won’t miss that much racing sam. I’m not sure on my return date yet but I need to be in work the following Monday.  ;D

There are 8 days in the year that banks do not open, on these days, workers in the UK get a day off work with pay.

In some instances, like my own, some people have to work and are paid triple their hourly rate.

The days are, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day also known as Spring Bank Holiday, Whit Monday(Whitsuntide)

August Monday, Christmas Day and the day after, called Boxing Day.

Now go away and stop asking daft questions, I'm trying to work here ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cold wet miserable joint, and that's in summer! Ha ha, I'm off to bed to look at that DVD Mick sent me, thanks Mick! Parle vous CB750? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
