K8 carb question...yeah, another one.

1978 CB750K8

I have now cleaned the carbs for the forth time.  I had to unclog the main air jet on the number 4 carb. It was totally plugged.

The bike runs much better. starts better, idles better when cold and "warms up" better.

I also turned the pilot screws out to about 2 1/2 turns each. that made a huge difference.

I have to sync my carbs yet. I am waiting for the tool.

However it has developed a pop from the exhaust while at low rpm.

Will this clear up wiith a good sync?

110 Main Jets
4 into 1  running no muffler (just the header)
K$N OEM replacement filter. In stock air box.
Dyna S ignition with 3 Ohm coils and new wires

I thought the turns out were too much till I saw you use a k&n. Do you know which cylinder pops? If you do, you can idle for a bit and pull the plug. Generally when I get a pop, it is from too much fuel. and you would need to turn the screws in a bit to 2 or so maybe.

I will clean up my plugs and do a reading.

Other than that I have no idea of how to find the popper(s).

When at idle, just hold your hands over the exhaust, you will feel the pop there. You can also feel the pipes on the mufflers and see if there is a temp diff. The colder one is probably the culprit. Make sure you touch towards the end of the muffler!
