Resistor Pack installations
« on: June 04, 2008, 08:01:04 PM »
Some of you have been really inventing with mounting these Resistor Packs on your Dyna coils. Good work! Some of you have also been asking for pictures ("how?"), so here's some from my upcoming installation on my CB750K2.

I'm showing my bracket here as notched out (I don't sell them this way, too much work for a $12 part!), but yours won't look this way unless you cut it yourself. Be careful of the wires, if you do!

First, the ground rules: I'm using Honda's coil mount brackets, as found on the 750K0-K6 bikes. Others are similar, but it seems the 750A is not (sorry, Dave!). Your bike may not have the clearance behind the coils in the frame, like the afore-mentioned models: some have mounted the resistors in front of the coils instead of behind, as shown here.

Finally, the last 2 pix show the new screws I just ordered: they are 5mm long, 5mm thread, and they use the "leftover" threaded holes in the brackets, if you notch the Resistor Pack bracket. Makes a real clean install, and that's how mine is going together. If you want some of these screws, PM me and I'll rape you by Paypal to get some from me.  ;) They are surprisingly expensive!

Here's the "notched" version.
