Anyone tried a Maxxis tire?
« on: May 28, 2008, 06:44:57 AM »

I just got 1 on the rear.  I like it's high speed handling.  The bike doesn't feel so slippery passed 80 mph anymore. :D

I have no idea what the wear would be like...  Anyone heard of them before?

any new tire is going to be an improvement over an old dry cracked tire.  if its working for you then its a good tire.  a lot of people dont trust CS tires, but from what i can tell there are not a lot of first hand reasons for the mistrust.  They are cheap and chinese.  check them for dry rot and weathering on a regular basis.  replace when the rubber gets hard even if its before the tread goes and you will be fine.

keep the maxxi side down

Not the maxxis but was happy with my CS Hi Max on the 360.  Rear was a little slick but always gave me warning.   After 15k miles have replaced it with a baracuda.   Havent really pushed it yet.

I got maxxis classic white walls, going to get them installed in two weeks, and just looking at them on my "man room" floor (the wife calls it the garage :P ) they are sticky, and if they are from cs they are not too cheap cost me 150 bucks for front and rear.
