They are perfect. The only thing we couldn't check yet is bearing tang cutout location. We had no bearings. We will have some tomorrow or Friday. Once we see that they fit the rods correctly, we will be shipping.

You guys that got in on this are going to love them.

to get a real flavour of the doings there..

Man the only way the Salt Flats experience could be better , is if we could have night drags at the Wendover airport!

Could you imagine, Bub Speed trials, Bonneville Vintage GP (at nearby Miller) AND Bonneville Bike Drags.. all in one week.. man that would be the coolest week of bikestuff out there..

be great promo for any company involeved in dragbike racing.. (right JE?)

Damn these rods look sexy compared to my stockers. Thanks for including everything needed for measure and installation. Just have to go buy the proper socket in order to start test fit/ bearing measure on my APE crank. It'll be some time until these actually turn in an engine but am excited about getting the ball rolling

Oh geez, no picture with the happy owner? Special socket necessary? Keep us informed as to what/where. Unfortunately I am out of town until Sat so I will just have to make do with your "visualized" picture. Same boat for me, the rods will have to wait for the engine. But, by damn, I have them!

My set arrived today. They look good. I weighed them and got 379.5 grams. OEM rod weighed 368 grams. 30lb torque on the bolts......they'll do the job. Thanks Jay.

I got an amount for the balance, but if rod price is as quoted, shipping is quite high.

Just thought I'd show a comparision of a Carrillo A beam to the Crower rods Jay had made. The Carrillo is for an FJ1200 but is actually a bit lighter than the Crower (368 grams vs 379 grams). You can see where Carrillo shaved some weight off by beveling the beam. The Crower probably would have been the same weight as the OEM CB rod had they done so. I prefer the Crower 2 oil holes for the pin.

The Carrillo still look sweet, but those Crower have a good stout looking end cap and with good bolts should never end up looking like Seans stocker! Like you Mike the two oil holes in the small-end is a good thing. Good buy guys, and well done Jay.

Rods cost is $799 as quoted, shipping and handling $17(inside U.S.), the rest was CA sales tax. Came in a lot lower than any other option I had.

Are California taxes applicable to puchases leaving the state?

Just wondering as 70 for shipping and Handling seems pretty high..?

Actually I asked for mail, as UPS usually involves brokering charges. They said they would send priority post.

My other alternative for shipping is to send it to a broker at the boder, and drive down and deal with customs at the border.

I am thinking it is a 5 or 6lb package, at that rate a crank would cost 350 or more to ship back..

That does seem a bit high though I don't know about insurance and duty on the package AND it was Priority. Canada gets something on any goods being shipped into the country it seems. I just sent a GS1150 cylinder Air Mail (no more surface delivery from the USPS) to Finland and that was 92.00 but no insurance on the package. Shipping to me (Massachusetts) was 19.00 UPS.

754 I live a couple miles from NY state line so I always ship to NY and bring through Can. Customs myself. Often if the part is $100 or less I don't get any hassle. Not sure how far it is for you to drive but it is no doubt the fastest way to get your parts.

Mike, if the product is of US origin there is no duty but our gov. will want to charge us both Fed & provincial tax.

No CA state sales tax to out of state sales. $817 total. UPS will rape you on shipping across the border. USPS is the best way to go.

3/8 12 point.. No sales tax except Calif. shipping address. I have been gone. Will check on any orderas that have not gone out on Monday.

I am now pushing for 970 / 1000 kits now that we have rods that can stand anything we can put in a Honda.
