Oooer, 970/1000 kits................. I hope the Aussie dollar comes back to where it was a month ago, it's dropped 30 cents against the greenback, but if/when it does, I'm in! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

My concern is not super fast shipping, but APE may be worried about traceabilty and reliable shipping.

I will call them Monday after noon, and ask them.. I will need a lot more stuff from them and wont be ready to assemble for a while..

As to the 970 & 1000cc kits, will you have pistons only? as I have a worn 970 block and spare sleeves. Any idea of ballpark pricing?

Jay,

Many thanks for the $100 discounted price off your website price. Now I'm hoping the initial orders for the bore kits by the SOHC4 site members will be equally rewarded for helping you get started again. The way I figure this is we're all in this together and I'd glad to be a part of it.

You are welcome Jerry. Yes what we did was price the rods to everyone here that wanted in to get this thing started, at a special price. The internet price will be the price from now on.

Thanks to everyone who participated.

We were going to do the wallpaper deal, but were just too busy. We actually delayed shipping them a couple of days for this, then just gave up.

Jay or anyone whom may know...

What's the status for those of us who sent in cranks for lighten/balance and installation of the new rods? Are these going out at the same time?
Thanks

Trying for Friday shipping on yours. Might be Monday at the latest.

Thanks, Jay!

Ditto. Great Service. I just got a call from the APE sales desk, they received my crank, say its still good to use and in fact they can lighten it further (it had been lightened ad balanced locally years ago).

I new they had it from the UPS tracking number, but getting phone calls is good pro-active service.

Got my tranny back from them yesterday. I'm not qualified to judge the work. But I suspect its just fine. Less than 3 week turnaround including UPS ground from Indy to CA and back.

It is now lighter. The balance that it had was no where as close as we do it.

I looked at the cyclexchange site. That looks like a polished stock rod. The long lead time means they are probably being made in China.

I can assure you they are NOT made in China.  I believe they are Japan made and a very high quality.  I am sure you wouldn't want anyone making those kind of assumptions about your product on a moto forum.  ;)

I talked to Ken and he said his rods are not Chinese. There are Chinese motorcycle rods in the country, but not theirs.

I get the impression from people that you are a decent guy, and I think you correcting yourself says a lot about you.  Thanks for making it clear, it would be a shame to have a rumor like that hurt the guys business.
