Clubman fit.
« on: July 22, 2005, 03:11:50 PM »
Once I got my clubmans bolted on, the brake line banjo bolt came up against the side of the tach, with the result that an inch of  grip is hanging off the bar end.I would like it to be the same as the other side! I don't want to rotate or extend the bars. Anyone?

I found that my clubmans had to be pushed WAY forward to work. with the "points" up as high as the to of the gauges...hope that helps

Some bikes have the reservoir under the tank. Maybe a transplant would work...

I went with a Kaw. or Yam. master cylinder on my 78 750F with clubmans, they're boxy and banjo off the front avoiding the unfortunate placement of the tach.

I have clubmans on my 1978 cb750k8 as well. The rubber cover off the master rubs a bit on my tach as well.

It just seems to be the way it's going to be.

clubmans fit on my 750K0 with little problem... there is a little over hang of the throttle grip, but only about 1/8 inch. i have it set up where the 'U' shaped curve of the clubmans is about level, with the points shooting forward instead of up at the sky... the grips are at a nice downward angle and a comfortable riding position. The banjo nestles snug up behind the right turn signal.. the 550 might have a tighter setup than the 750 though.. good luck

Thanks for the pix! I'm installing these soon and they helped quite a bit in clarifying. I'm sure they helped others too.
Thanks again,
Joel

well, the real fix is to replace the master cylinder entirely with a universal nissin m/c, the rubber hose with braided steel lines, and then do this(  http://springvinmoto.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album84&id=DSC00506  ).  it makes you stop in a much shorter distance.  make sure that your fork seals hold oil, as they will blow if they are old.

I'm planning on upgrading my master.  Picked up a 93' Kawasaki ZX7R Nissin master on ebay for 20 bucks.  Should work and give me more clearences when I switch to clubmans.
