Bad Plug Wire
« on: May 29, 2008, 01:18:40 PM »
Do the '77 750Ks have the plug wires that go directly into the coil, or do they bolt on.  I'm at work so I can't run out and check and I need to replace them.

Thanks!

Directly into the coil. Some one correct me if I am wrong but I don't think any of the SOHC4 had the plug wires not "built" into the coil. However If I remember correctly there are ways to get the plug wire out of the coil if need be.

Yeah all the SOHC 750's, as far as I know, had coils with molded-in plugs.  You can cut open the casings with a dremel and replace the wires, but it's not a 5-minute thing.  70's Goldwings and later the DOHC 750's had coils with replaceable wires, you can use those if you match the impedance correctly.
