Hello from Belgium
« on: June 04, 2008, 09:52:00 AM »
Hi there,
i am Gert Peeters, 20 years old and recently bought a CB350f, my first real motorbike.
When i was 16 years old i bought a Honda Dax wich i rode for about a year, then i sold it and bought a Honda CD50E from 1968. I really liked that litle bike but the law said you couldn't ride it harder then 45 kilometers per hour ( witch it did not off course ) so i decided i wanted a motorbike when i was 18.
I was kind off charmend by Vespa's so i bought a 1983 PX125E and placed a 177cc cilinder on it. I currently still ride this but i don't really want to call it a motorbike. It's not as fast and you don't have a fuel tank between your legs...
I always loved CB's so i decided to buy one, it had to be the 350 because i have a limited driving licence witch means i can only ride motorbikes under 25Kilowatts. Untill i've got 2 years of driving behind me that is, then i hope to buy a 500 and eventually a 750.
That's about it, i've got some tech questions but i presume they go in the other subforums.

Here are some pictures

Honda Dax '73

Honda CD50E '68

Honda CB350f '74

No pictures of the Vespa on this computer, i'll put them up later...

Welcome.  That though is not a 350F, but a 400F.  350F's were not made after '73 and the clutch housing is different.

Here is a '72 CB350F

Now  1972 CB350FX (experimental v2.0)
        1981 CB650c Custom with '79 engine (wifes)
        1981 CB650 engine
        2004 HD XL883C Custom
        1977 Yamaha XS750D (in progress)
Then 1972 CL175
        1964 Yamaha YGS-1T

Welcome Gert.

All of your rides look to be in very good shape.  The new one looks to be a nice ride.

My mistake about the years.  The CB350F was made in '74 according to this forums main website page.  Someone please expound on the 400F style of clutch housing?

I can answer that, i didn't type it above.
It's a CB350 with a 400 engine in it. That was done by the previous owner.
It's got a nasty rattle coming from the cam chain at the moment, so i don't really ride it yet.
I also noticed a couple of days ago that a spoke had broken off, so i'll have to respoke the weels to.
It will still have to wait for a couple of weeks because i have to study for school.
Really looking forward to riding it!

Thanks for the replies!

Oh, that explains it.  Thanks.  I was going krazy thinking I did not know all there was to know about the CB350F. ::)

It appears that my pictures of the Vespa are deleted on the computer but i did find one with the Vespa on the background. In the front there is a Honda CB650SC nighthawk, it was my dad's restoration bike but he didn't really have time for it. He is working working on cars now, a Volvo 142 ( you can see it in the back ) and a Volvo Amazone ( 120 that is i believe ). Since i didn't really liked the Nighthawk ( all the square shapes... ) i sold it and with the money from that i bought the CB350f. Since i sold his last motorcycle i'm afraid i'll have to share the CB350 with him.

@johnny
En ja inderdaad, Vlaams, ik ben van Ekeren bij Antwerpen. Als de CB350 rijdt zoals hij moet rijden, moeten we dat eens doen!
