tighting new petcock

I got a new petcock is there a standard on how tight I should make it....dont want to overturn it.

I tightened my new petcock without any issues. Just tighten til you you get resistance. No issues with allen wrentch tightening.

Before you install it, you may want to figure out if you're buying that other tank or not.

Rub a drop of oil onto the o-ring with your fingers before installing.  This will keep the o-ring from binding up and twisting when you tighten, BUT it can make it easier to over-tighten because there's less friction.  Basically treat it like an oil filter on a car, turn it down until the o-ring makes contact with the surfaces, then turn a bit more to tighten, less than one turn.
