« on: July 09, 2008, 01:55:58 PM »
hey,...
im in the process of lowering my cb650 in the back..
im going bobber style and im replacing  the rear shocks with welded chain...
in an attempt to get it as low as i can,i noticed my 4-1 exhaust is getting pretty close to the ground..
its running kinda centre under the bike ,so for cornering it wont matter, but do any of you know what clearance i atleast need from lowest point under the bike to the ground..??

im asking this with welder gun in my hand, ready to weld the chain onto the swing arm..

As much clearance as the size of the object you intend to run over ;)  Seriously, if you're making a hardtail out of your bike then the front forks are the only dampening, besides the air in your tires, right?

Bottom out your front forks and add an inch?
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame
