« on: May 19, 2008, 01:04:31 PM »
my buddy wanted a cafe that he could carry a passenger. i wanted it to look cool. this was what i came up with. the rear section removes to access a small passenger seat. i like the look of the parallel twin engines. btw, did i mention this was my first attempt at a cafe? any feedback is appreciated

Need bigger pics.  Don't downsize them that much, just to around 800x600 or maybe 640x480.  The forum software will create thumbnails if necessary.

The overall lines of the bike look good from what I can see.  Maybe it needs smaller instruments though?

cheers

Looks good, I'd maybe look for some different pipes though. Nice job!

Or do what I did on my F1 and just lower the dial a little bit. That helped a lot on the lines of the bike.

Good idea!

The late 80's (?) Buell RS1200 had a similar arrangement so you're in good company.

thanks for that  info. it's nice to know an idea that i had is something that would be approved to go into production. (even though that was 30 years ago!) still haven't been able to resize the pics for the forum. either they come out way too small or i can't download because too big. how do u guys do it?

There are ways to do it with your pc, but I use Flickr (you could use photobucket or such also) and have had a lot better luck with resizing since. ;)

For Windows XP, I use Microsoft's Image Resizer, which is a part of the Windows XP Power Toys.  Once you've downloaded and installed it, you can just right-click on any image and easily resize it to a number of common resolutions (640x480, 800x600, 320x420) or to any custom resolution.  Very easy :)  I have it leave the original file alone and just create a reduced copy, that way my high-res original is unmolested.

For Vista, well, we haven't taken that particular plunge here yet.  :)  Google for "vista image resizer gpl" and many free options seem to be available.

Cheers,

Frankly I think it's an idea I wish more manufacturers employed. It just makes sense in my humble yet flawless opinion.

Very nice.  Thanks for the different angles too :)

Now that I think of it, keep the instruments.  The go nice with the headlight, give that retro look, and when you're at WOT you can tuck in and duck down behind them to break the wind!  ;)

Nicely done.

on my bike i took the gages off cut the studs off and remounted them under the bike mount. then took the stock light mount off and got a lowering bracket to replace it. i wish i had some pics to show how clean the line is.

May not make you go faster, but I know it always makes me feel better and the people behind me unhappy.   Sorry.... Couldn't resist

Technicaly it does make you go faster - newton's law and all that equal and opposite force plus if it's a chunky one you're probably lighter too  :D

Well, if you want to get all physics about it, the force applied by the flatus in question against the trousers of the theoretical pilot would create an equal-but-opposing force, negating any benefit.

Therefore, wear chaps!
