Ha! Ha! Ha! That's the whole idea fuzzy! ;D You see, I spot a bike that I really like the look and/or the details of and then I show it/or them here and get somebody else feeling the same way! :D I liked the first one because I thought it had a BSAish look (with Triumph style mufflers), but, like you said, the 2nd one had a Nortonish look and I REALLY like that one too! 8) ;) Once, I found a place where they were modifying the Yamaha SR500 to resemble the old 50's BSA Gold Star and I would post it but I can't seem to find it now. Any help on finding it? Can't remember what it was called or exactly how I found it. ::)

Heh fuzzy..glad you spotted the nortonish look of the 650....Theres a very good chance you may see that look applied to the 750F
'84 Chevy C10
'73 MGB Roadster
'69 Ford F250

The red and black one looks more British with painted mudguards.
Black one has too much chrome, would need alloy mudguards to look more 'Norton'

I see what you mean PJ. I was liking the black one for the 900cc engine, the exhaust system, the handlebar setup and the rearsets. I agree that the bike IS a bit flashy to be a Norton, but I also would add a set of those Yamaha tank decals that are designed like the Norton ones, like doug_id did. ;)  Thanks for the input.

                           Take care, Bill ;)

PJ

I don't remember if they gave details. I got those 2 bikes from650motorcycles.com (I think you are familiar with it) and there are some posts (or whatever they call them over there) and I'll look into it sometime today and get back to you. ;)

Hey PJ, here is a shot of a couple of XS650s that have a Halco 840 kit in it and the other one has a Wiseco 736 kit in it.

          http://www.650motorcycles.com/AbbeWinterson.html

           I'm still looking. ;)

This link is to a fellow with an 840cc Flat Tracker and has his email address in it. http://www.650motorcycles.com/SteveMorton.html

Hey PJ, here's one that the fellow (Mike Murphy w/ email address included) is working on a 920cc engine for his bike.

       Here's the link: http://www.650motorcycles.com/MikeMurphy101.html

       And here's the bike:

I'll check later and see if I can find anything else. ;)

Here's a link w/email address, to the info on the black one that has the bred and stroked 900cc engine. Maybe that will help. :)

Not sure where we were, perhaps gone to the bathroom or the burger bar ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Not even sure where the meeting was, probably one of the southern tracks going by the state of the surface.

I had no idea, when I brought that picture over her and posted it. I gotta keep my eyes open for any small detail, don't I? :D Seems like I'm never gonna know when ole' Sam or evidence of him, is gonna be lurking around. ;)

I still can't believe that, out of ALL of the different photos on there, I picked THAT one to post. :) That is so ironic!

Couldn't leave this thread without a pic of my Brit inspired XS650.  I'm starting the wiring shortly - just getting a few more bits.
