Where does Alaska fit?

Everyone knows that Alaska is part of the USA right? How come its not listed in any of the regional forums??? Maybe a forum of its own especially since the state is sooooooo large and we love to ride up here? ;D

As a previous Alaska resident, I can honestly say the statement "Except Alaska and Hawaii, the freak states" holds very true.

Can't tell you how many times I argued about being charged for "overseas shipping".

I all ways ask people who overcharge for shipping if they passed fifth grade geography and do they know the difference between continental & contiguous?

Back when I moved there in the 70s, network programming was generally 2-3 weeks behind the lower 48.  About the only thing you'd see the same day was the news and Monday Night football, though it was delayed  a couple of hours.  When advertising a date and time for a preview for a TV show, they would dub in the statement "not current in Alaska."  "Not current in Alaska" became a standard joke about anything that was odd or peculiar to Alaska.  Now that it is all civilized up there now, you don't hear it.
