Hi all,
just picked up a 75 750F on Saturday, I've been lurking about a month, but now that I actually have a sohc4 of my own I figured I'd introduce myself (ok, the bike).

The bike wants to be blue, but the original tank has some serious pin holes (apparantly from a large pin).  The tank on it now is from a later model, a 2 tone deep red.  Hoping to locate another blue tank and a RH side cover.  In the meantime she's stuck in the basement so I can go through things as I get time/money.  Fortunately I have an operational bike in the stable so I'm not in a big hurry.

My first bike (1986) was a 76 CB750, long gone now but I guess now I've sort of returned to my roots.

This is a great site by the way; some of the usual bike forum tomfoolery but you folks seem less edgy (I'm trying to avoid uising the word 'nice' in case that's considered the kiss of death).  I'm also impressed with the amount of technical info available either on or through the site; my thanks to those in charge.

Rob

Your post doesn't seem to warrant Buffo's reply...

"From New Guy"? Anyway, welcome Rob, Glenn is the man in charge, and we've got a few hall monitiors, er, moderators to keep us all in line. A Blue CB750F eh? Nice bike mate, I had a new yellow one back in the 1970's.

Hey CD811, is that your bike in your avatar? Looks interesting! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hey Chromey, have you seen a product called "Mirror Chrome"? Karl in Wales sent me this web link last week, this is the stuff they used to make that Merc look like it was chrome plated? Magnificent finish, but quite expensive. I'm thinking about buying some to paint a "less than perfect" tank, sidecovers, headlight shell, helmet, cricket "box", etc etc the list of things you could paint with it are infinite! Hoo Baby! Cheers, "Chrome Dome" ;D

Don't worry Capo Hornswaggle, no-ones mad with ya, Steve's just on edge because the "fourth test" of the Ashes cricket match between Australia (good guys) and England (evil pit dwellers) starts tomorrow, and he's worried that we'll kick their butts! Cheers, Triple S. ;D

Terry - I'll resist the temptation to edit your post.  Glenn would probably fire me if I started doing that.

Your pizza-eating mate was on TV here yesterday winding up all the evil pit dwellers (note to self - move this to Ashes thread)

Hey Steve, I read somewhere that Britains favourite food is curry? Wouldn't be because of the squillions of Indians and Pakistani's living in Britain, would it? Don't you guys like Pizza? Yeah, move these posts mate, we're getting off track here, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. (another Pizza Eater) ;D

Actually Terry, you're right (surely not I hear the massed ranks of SOHC-ers cry)
It is a "statistical" fact that the Brit's favourite food is curry and the reason is exactly the one you put forward. The large Asian population contains a huge number of restaurant entrepreneurs (meaning lots of Indian restaurants everywhere). They're good and they're cheap. My wife and I regularly go out on a Friday night to our favourite Nepalese in downtown Wokingham.

It is also a fact that the Brits' favourite dish (Chicken Ticka Masala) was invented here and isn't really indian at all! Chicken Ticka shouldn't really be mixed with the orange sauce.

Jalfrezi for me every time!
